axle help
ok, this is a 99 civic with a k20a2 swap.. and my question is when i go about 30+ mph and turn slightly to the right it makes like a clunking sound and vibrates the whole car. i bought these axles from hybrid racing. could the driver side axle be too long? is there any other axle i could try? and also does anyone think hybrid racing would exchange for me a new one? thanks

maybe the axle nut isn't torqued on right? my buddy's teg's axle wasn't on tight and it kept on making a clunking noise...check that...just a thought...gl

Id say they gave you a faulty axle. It sounds like a bad/damaged CV joint due to the fact that it only happens when you turn to the right. Sounds like the CV is jumping around inside the tulip Due to a missing bearing perhaps overlooked at the manufacturer. Or dirt or some foreign object got inside the joint and the rollers only hit it when slightly turning the wheel. But all things aside Id give them a call unless you damaged it yourself when performing the install or whomever did the swap caused damage to the boot/axle I'm pretty sure that they will gladly replace the damaged one they probably will make you send back the old one for remanufacturing.
yeah, ill try and give them a call on monday. the boots are perfect and has no signs on damage but you could be right about the defect. the car only has 50 miles on it. i tried to drive the car around town to see if it would wear some in but i didnt
i took a look at it again today and it seems like the axle is too long because the boot is kind of too close together unlike the other axles which have some slack but im not sure. thanks for the inputs!!!

Some axles are like that i with the boot compressed somewhat my civic had its replaced on the drivers side before I bought it, The CV joint attached to my spindle is more compressed than the others. There isnt any noise If there isnt any damage is more than likely just a defect GL on your axle though.
