Default Multi questioned post, LONG, dx to ex.

Alright lets kick things off.
I have a 95 coupe dx, and a 95 coupe ex.
I want to swap almost everything over to my dx.
List of everything i am changing.
Ex interior
tranni, I have an auto in the dx, so i am doing a 5 speed swap.
head.

NOW ONTO THE QUESTIONS. I will try to present them in a logical order.

1. Tommarow i am going to finish pulling the interior, pedals, and almost everything else from the ex. I want to go ahead and put the ex harness in when i do the interior swap. My question is... With my car still haveing the d15b7 in it, and the auto will the ex harness hook up. I am just trying to get the harness in while i have the interior out of the car. I wont be doing vtec or 5 speed for a little while yet, and i want to make sure that the harness will plug up to my setup.

2. Since i am changing the dash, will i have to take my old vin plate and rivit it to the new dash?

1. Which harness exactly are you talking about, engine harness or the floor harness used for the power windows and stuff. If its just the floor harness, your engine should be fine. I dont thinkl the engine harness would work without a little re-wiring.

2.Why are you changing the dash in the first place? Is it a different color or something? And yes if you want your car to be legal you would have to change the vin plate

The engine and floor harnesses should be compatible, VTEC Being wired in is just a plus the plugs for vtec solenoid and such just cover up with some electrical tape until you install the VTEC motor Not having them plugged In wont have you throw a CEL or anything unless you decide to throw in the EX ECU while your doing your interior as well. And no you dont have to change the VIN unless you are going through inspection if you have the title to the ex the dash belongs to with you at all times they cant do anything about it but it would be wise to swap your VIN over to the EX's dash.

I have a grey interior in the dx, the ex has a black interior. I'm talkin ewvery last inch of wire out of the ex. I am putting in the power windows, locks, ect. So yeah, all the harness outof the ex. I ment to finish pulling the interior today, but it was 98 degress in the shade with 100% humidity where i live blah.

lol. Well, i got the interior out of the ex, but my dumb azz forgot to pull the pedal assembley so i get the stall a few more days on the dash swap. Any who, I've decided to hold off a while and just rebuild the z6 and drop it in and kill all those birds with one stone. So i'm just gonna use the z6 engine harness, ex ecu, ex chassi harness, ect.
