help with front door window trim
the black material covering the trim started to peel away so i decided to blade everthing off. everything did not come off as clean as i wanted. should i sand with 1500 grit and then polish or what? if i do sand it then should i use 3m rubbing compound or mothers aluminum polish? it'd be easier if i knew how to take it off. i tried pulling at it in every direction but it didn't budge.
here are some pics:

looks good from a distance. i would rather replace it than cut the others. plus, i figured that the weatherstripping was there for a reason.

i would tape off the surrounding area and then wetsand it with 600 grit followed by 1500 grit. then i would polish it with metal polish. then wax to protect.

it's a dx.
so no one knows how to take it off? i don't think i want to do the other three window trims. it's a dilemna because a new one would cost around $60 from tasauto.com i think.
