So my rear hatch actuator has taken a poop. I want to replace it but can't get the hatch open to do this.
I assume that I can climb in there and take it apart/or open the hatch from the inside of the car...but does anybody want to share their experience with doing this before I try to tackle this job?
POS tailgate actuator motor!
But to be fair, this is really the first problem I've had with my ITR since I've had it.

Just use the key and turn it hard to the right, it will open.
Hell, you are welcome to anything off of my hatch since it still works (but not needed). I owe you for all of your help getting the car going

There was another thread on this topic a while ago where someone actually just replaced the $2 electric motor that is the part that actually takes a poop.
What is the price of the actuator assembly - still $60??
what's the p/n?

If I remember correctly, the motor is not the problem, but the plastic gear is. Which is not sold seperatly.

thank you.
even though you can still open the hatch with a key - you need BOTH hands to do it - one to turn the key and the other to press the latch to the left and open the hatch.
this is a pain in the *** if you have something in your hands that you just bought or in my case dry-cleaning.
I'm definitely going to replace this .
