si not getting enough gas..?
I got a weird problem with my Si. When I am in low RPMs it seems like my car is bogging out..like it's not getting enough gas. Then once i get around 35-4000 RPM then it finally takes off. Today i started my car while it had been sitting outside in crazy hot weather (if that matters) started on my way in first gear then it felt like my car just didnt want to go like it was about to stall out. My check engine light has been on for a while (months) but when i tested it out, it showed it was because of the O2 sensor so I didn't pay too much attention to it. When i drove it and it felt like it was about to shut off on me the check engine light started blinking which made me think that it wasnt just the O2 sensor. I checked a few things like the injectors etc..i also thought it may be the cat converter. This only happens once in a while. I just drove it around the block now and it feels nice and smooth so I don't know whats going on.
Anyone know why this is happening?....sorry for the novel

You ecu is more than likely running in limp mode and pulling timing because of the faulty o2 sensor. Replace it and check for other codes.

I think 99-00 Si's need their own forum. Like the Type-R. Now that would be nice. In any case, get a new o2 sensor. Don't ignore your cels, especially when it comes to air/fuel ****.

I disagree, there is little difference on the EM1's compared to regular civics.
The type-r is a totally differen't car than the regular integra.

Yea, should make a difference. A malfunctioning O2 sensor would indeed cause bogging, because the primary o2 sensor reads and regulates the air/fuel mixture.

there are two O2 sensors, one toward the front and one on the cad converter..which is the one thats giving me problems anyone have an idea?
I think both sensors will give the same code if there's a problem.
Best bet would be to get a new one (or one that you know that works) and switch them out one at a time.

When the ck engine light starts flashing that means the engine is running so bad that you are damaging the catalytic converter.

ok first o2 sensor was easy to take off but i have a few more questions. how do i take off the o2 sensor off the cat converter? it seems like it goes in the body up toward my shifter maybe? i assume i have to take off the converter to get that o2 sensor off. i wanted to ask first before i started taking stuff off. how likely is it that i could have damaged my converter to the point where i may need to get a new one? thanks!
EDIT: how much do o2 sensors normally cost?

Please refrain from posting until you actually know what the expletive you are talking about.
Flashing CEL usually means Bad ecu.

ummm....noob FTL
Means that you have a bad ECU
WTF, damaging your cat?? If your engine is running that badly in the first place, your CAT is the least of your damn worries.
You clearly pulled that fact out from deep in your ***.

lol to vtecagent.
you definatly should pay attention to your cel (unless you own a vw then its just factory settings)
could the car be providing more or less gas then appropriate because the o2 sensor is giving a faulty reading? like taking in more then it says and thus running lean?
