my 2000 AP1 that came standard with no Factory alarm, just the keyless entry with keychain remote, doors lock and unlock perfectly until right now when my friend is installing aftermarket alarm (Viper 5002) and the DRIVER side door isnt locking or unlocking (i do hear a noise) but passenger side door is locking and unlocking working perfectly.

what can be the problem?

 

Um... is the drivers door OPEN when your testing this?

Other door locks and unlocks? Maybe the actuator just came disconnected?

passenger door locks and unlocks perfectly

driver side door DID however LOCK ONCE (first time tested it) but then it would not unlock or ever work again.

then we just wraped everything up and i drove home, and then when i got home, it did LOCK and unlock ONCE, but then today it dsnt do it anymore at all..

it was working perfectly before alarm install with the oem keyless entry.. wierd

 

ask your homie did he hook up the door trigger

he incorporated the oem keyless entry with the viper alarm.

Lock=Pink/black
Unlock=Yellow/Green and pink/blue(use either one)

cut the 2 wires in half.

Using the 451M relay attach...

white/black(451m) to pink/black(car) switch side.
green/black(451m) to pink/black(car) to lock motor side.

brown/black(451M) to yellow/green or pink/blue(car) switch side.
blue/black to yellow/green or pink/blue(car) unlock motor side.

attach purple wire(451m) to 12v.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I am the one that installed his alarm, i am MECP certified too so i know what i was doing as far as how to install alarms. his problem was unique to his vehicle. after doing research i came to a conclusion that 2000-2002 S2000 have this problem a lot. it requires aftermarket actuators or repinning the factory power lock relay.</TD></TR></TABLE>
