Mechanical water temperature gauge questions

I am installing a mechanical water temp gauge from autometer, and I can't figure out what I need to buy. After some searching I found that people usually buy a t-fitting and run both the stock sensor and their new sensor.
However, as you can see from the pics, the new sensor is huge and I can't even begin to picture the t-fitting I would need to use. Other people have mentioned tapping the radiator hoses, but again, I cant picture it, and none of the pictures in the old threads work anymore.

The gauge came with an adapter, that I assume I will not be using, as it is massive.

Here is what I think I will need to use in conjunction with a t-fitting and maybe an adapter of sorts.

This picture sucks, but you can see the location of the stock sensor there.

Did you have to get any special adapters or did you just take out the old one and pop the autometer stuff right in. What did you do with the original plug, and does your stock gauge still work?

BUy one of those and skip all the crap yrou having to do.
You can keep your original temp sensor AND have the mechanical one.
Plus it looks cool. My buddy has one from Buddy club and it's a sweet lil setup. very clean.

Will that work with the autometer gauge? The hole on those things look pretty small, and you can see how big the plug is from my pics...
If so, which one will I need?

Yeah man, those are not gonna work for a mechanical gauge, they only have a 1/8 fitting on them, and you need a 1/2" fitting with the autometer mechanical gauge.
Someone on a miata site tapped into one of their coolant lines, that might work, but it will take some creativity.

If the gauges dont come with the one you need, go to Ace Hardware and buy one.

Yeah those pics helped, thanks. However, I notice you have an H series, and I have a B series, so it wont work like that. My friend showed me what he did though, he just bought a T fitting and ran it to one of the coolant lines, seemed to work for him. I will probably be doing the same thing.
And to mac_24_seven, there is NO WAY, the bushing in my picture would fit in the hole of the adapter you posted. No way. Those are probably for an electrical gauge, or maybe even another brand of mechanical gauge, but not the one that I have.
Look at the size of the hole where frstbte14 put his gauge, and then look at the one in the radiator hose adapter...how you can say they fit for sure baffles me...
