Default ABS light comes on intermittently

hey guys, i have searched but havent come up with anything solid.

i have a 5th gen prelude and sometimes, when i start the car, the abs light stays on. if i drive around and turn off the car for a little while and start it up again, the light goes off. and there have been times when i have been driving and it comes on and after awhile turns off again. could it possibly be an abs sensor or is there something else that is doing this?

thanks

Most likely a speed sensor.

ABS controls each wheel with a sensor.
It's possible that the sensor is malfunctioning or simply dirty.
You can run a selfcheck on the circuit board, it may give you an idea where the problem lays.
However, it's cheap to replace a ABS sensor.

If the problem persists, then it's probably your ABS modulator, which controls the entire ABS system.
This piece is quite expensive when new, not to mention installation costs by an official Honda dealer.

I believe you can pull the ABS code, it should direct you to which wheel to check out.

More than likely, its low brake fluid, or a dirty sensor. The sensor is relatively easy to get to and clean off with a rag.
