Default Newbie to honda and fwd

Hey all, this is my first post and my first honda. I picked up my '99 prelude from my local honda dealer, and now have some questions. It has lost all insignia stating the car type and maker. How am I suposed to tell what type I have (base or sh). From what I have found so far, the chassis code is bb6. Does this differ between the two modles? I have also noticed that its difficult to shift into 1st. The car has 109,000 and no other issues as of yet. Any info that you all have would be greatly appreciated.

ps: is there anything that I should be looking forwad to as far as little issues popping up due to the milage? Thanks once again.

As far as that issue, the tranny won't go into 1st unless you are going under 5-10 mph...sometimes even less it seems like.

You could try installing a larger dia rear swaybar like the 27mm from Progress. It will greatly reduce or eliminates the understeer depending on the settings.

thank you all so much. as to that sway, does anyone have much in the way of exprnc. using it. im realy picky about the parts i use on my cars. and for that tranny issue, it occurs at a dead stop. i ususally try not to shift down into first while rolling

Smart

I have a '00 Base model, it tends to do that also, just pull it back into 2nd and then into first again, It hardly happens ever but I got used to it.
