Quite an open question, if you ask me.

I've owned a 5th and a 7th Civic EX. Depending on what you're going for, it could be a toss up. If you want to ride slammed, and have the most parts availability for less money, buy a 5th gen. If you want a little more luxury on the interior, as well as a newer model, go with the 7th gen. Personally, if I were to do it all over again, I'd probably choose my 7th gen, just because it's a more comfortable, and rare, car to see modified.

i would buy an EF over any other gen of honda.

They are cheap, readily available and SUPER light.

You can have a quick car with a homemade turbo kit, coilovers new brake pads and sticky tires.

Technically speaking, there's an EP3 Type-R. So, the 7th gen Civics have one as well.

Where I live there's more than a few modified 7th gens. Primer, bodykits, spoilers, altezzas galore!

I've got to say that although i love my EM2, i wish i had waited another 6 months and got an EP3 Type-R.

But as a direct response to the OP's question, like Matt i'd say it depends what you want. I prefer the look (exterior) and the interior of the 7th gen myself.

The 7thgen has the best interior, I wish it responded better to bolt ons though. I like my 7th....I can take it to the office and when I park next to clean Benzes and Beamers it still looks pretty good.

7th gens all the way. they look better overall and u can slam these too...sometimes...it would have been better if they gave it a k from the factory like the ep3's. those things are ugly. a super overweight 7th gen. BVKLAHAS
