wheel sizes for dc5 itr brake setup
I have a 5 lug conversion and I was wandering how small of a rim size can I go without problems fitting the rim on over the brakes thanks in advance
the itr offset is 15mm wider than the usdm rsx. so umm are u planen to get the brembo setup? cause thats what the itr's come with, and if ur planning to go usdm and planning on getting the dc5 itr rims ull need spacers.
no actually I am plannin on going with the brembo ITR setup on my em2 and im tryin to see how small of a rim I can put on there so I can put some nice meaty tires on it for autox or even possilble slicks if I even decide to go up in class in the future.. thanks again..
can u give us some insight on the dimensions of the "brembo" itr setup? Is this the red brakes found on the Japanese DC5 Integra Type-R? Those usually require 17s which will be better for you if you auto-x, but i guess you wanted small for drag racing.
In all honesty, if you can afford it, get you some 17s or 18s, preferably forged, and then you can run some nice and grippy, wide *** low profile tires. They are ALL high performance, and if you have a small wheel with big tires, you dont wanna put crap for tires on and have those brakes go to waste and shred the tires.

16's should be able to fit, and I know of at least one 15" wheel that fits (Team Dynamics Pro Race, both the 1 and 1.2 versions).
The hard part is finding wheels with a +60 offset. You won't be able to, say, use a +45 wheel with spacers, because even if you can clear the calipers, the tires will scrape against the fender lips.

Yes, I'm talking about the DC5 Integra-R Brembos.
And yes, no kidding, you can fit one specific 15" wheel over them.

A bit off topic, but the RSX Type-S brakes....that car came with 17s but there are two known 15" wheels to clear them, a TE-37 made by volk and a CPF made by racing hart.
Again, for performance, you want 17s anyway, if not 18s, for a lighter TOTAL rotational weight. 15s also are going to choke the cooling of the brakes a little bit.

The Type-S came with 16" wheels in 02-04, and you can add the Team Dynamics wheel I mentioned above and SSR Type-C to the short list of 15's that fit.
The British DC5-R driver who was mentioned in the ClubRSX threads uses his Team Dynamics 15's for the circuit -- so brake cooling probably wasn't affected very much at all.
