Hello............I'm trying to troubleshoot my 91 accord EX. I have a check engine light that is on. The strange thing is that I pulled the code from the green (S light) sport light blinks instead of the real check engine light. I'm not sure if thats normal but I was reading from Haynes that the actual check engine light should be blinking. Anyway, I'm getting a code 14 from the blinking light.

My car is fine at idle. Its when I take off that it starts acting crazy. I floor it to enter the freeway and the revs are going up and down between 3000-3500 rpms. When I let the gas go, let it shift to the next gear, its fine again and drives normal. I have already replaced the IACV and it still throws the code. Anyone have suggestions? Appreciate it.

Usually faulty TCM.

Thanks tech8. That helped out a lot. I'll look into that today and see if the TCM has any issues.

 

Pull the TCM out and take it apart, most likely a blown capacitor.
