Help, what's this noise???
Alright, I replaced both axles within the last 2 months, but I hear a machine gun sounding noise, the faster I drive the faster the noise is, I checked the axle boot, not ripped, somebody just suggested something about the hub, well Idk and I am scared of driving it at normal speeds of 55. What else should I look for?
Thanks nikkas.
Thanks nikkas.
I dont hear anything I tell ya.
Jack the car up, check the wheel bearings. Many times the cheap rebuilt axles are complete POS and you'll end up replacing them about every 4 months (lifetime warranty.....right....).

i'm pretty sure i have the same noise. for a while i was getting a "click" noise whenever the car would get torque. i changed the axles and the click went away, but now after driving at higher speeds, the faster i go, i get the same noise. and it still sounds like its coming from the tires.
is that the wheel bearings? how can you tell if they're straight up shot?

Wheel bearing test is to jack the car up and wiggle the wheel....if its solid, your wheel bearing is fine, if its shot, the tire will wiggle around like its about to fall off.

It could be your dif and it could be the wrong axles. I have had many wrong axles with the right box and part number. I also had the dif go out and thought it was an axle.

On mine, the rear bearing was shot, you could not wiggle the tire when it was jacked up, but when i took off the bearing it was obvious that it was no good. so maybe that's a general given that the bearing is shot, but not always the case.
