94 accord ex coolant leak! Please help
My radiator started leaking yesterday, so i look to see where it was leaking from. On the bottom of the radiator where there is a flange (threaded) with 2 nuts on, one of the nuts was loose and i took a wrench and tighted it and it stopped leaking, but then when i started my car and drove to work, my temp gauge started to go up near the H mark, when i got to work, i looked under the car and it was leaking from the same place and its tighted too. what do i have to do to fix this leak? replace any thing? washers maybe?? any???
if the radiator is stock then its got plastic ends, which means the 2 nuts your taking bout are probably the transcooler lines, and if its leaking coolant then the radiator has a hairline crack since the trans cooler and lines are separate from the radiator(the trans cooler is located in the bottom end cap and is cooled by the radiator coolant like a mini radiator inside a big radiator) id recommende a new raditor rather then messing with a crack in the location. now if its an aftermarket with metal caps in which case you might be able to repair the crack by either brazing, or using J-B weld, marinetech or anything else you can think to seal the crack, but the hassle of taking it out, cleaning it, and then trying to repair it you'd be a lot happier to just install a new radiator anyways, then run around $80- 140 depending on your location and parts buying ability.
nope, the whole corner is cracked out. Even then man, we're talking about the lifebreath of your car. I personally wouldn't take my chances on an $85 part causing my engine to overheat itself to death.
