I think I screwed up my ignition timing when I was changing my distributor somehow. Should I just set my crank to the red 16 degree mark to get me back to the #1 position, then install the distributor the proper way? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Apparently my battery was bad, that may have been part of my initial issue.

 

If you removed your dizzy you'll have to reset timing with a timing light.

 

I understand that. However, you have to get the car started first. If you are sparking on the wrong cylinder, the car isn't going to start.

 

you just put the dizzy somewhere in the middle, is doesn't matter if the motor is at TDC or not, the dizzy will only go in one way
