well i sold my gsxr last fall , well i took the ninja 250 as partial payment , i figured i would at least have something to ride until i get a new bike and my wife is interested in learning to ride as well i figured it would be perfect for her . Anyhow i took it out the day i recieved it to make sure it was running sound and after that it sat im my garage for months , ive been too busy with working on having a house built to mess with it lately .well today i had some free time so i took it out for a few hours and one thing i have to say is its very fun because its really easy to throw around but im a relativley large guy so this thing really sucks for trying to carry my fat *** up a hill and trying to keep it at a consistant speed anything over 50mph really sucks too, it engine brakes like crazy at the slightest backing off of the throttle . very easy bike to manuver it will be great for my wife to learn on but for a fat *** like me it sucks . after all that i made a trip to the local honda/yamaha/suzuki dealership to see what kind of deal i could get on a 07 600rr . but i left empty handed because i couldnt decide between the 07cbr or 07r6 , they both felt great but the 07 gsxr felt terrible to me
I know what you mean.
A few weeks ago I had both a 00 GSXR600 and a 06 EX250 and i would ride around the block with both bikes and the only thing great about the ex250 is that it is so idiotproof and feels much more nimble. perfect learner's bike.

i learned on a 600 , i didnt have a hard time . took my time rode within my limits, hardest thing i rember about learning on a supersport was dealing with the quick throttle and touchy brakes , the brakes on the ninja are so forgiving that i think my buttcheeks could clamp the rotor harder than the stock caliper could.,I honestly think i would have had a harder time on the 250 just because im up/down shifting like crazy although I guess that makes for better practice . I would never recomend it to anyone else to learn on a supersport but i would also never recomend a ninja 250 to bigger guy like my self to start on either . i do think the 500 would be perfect
the 250 is a great bike, specially for daily riding. Ive put over 12,000 freeway miles on mine and i am a 240lb guy. It runs out of steam round 90 mph but its a good thing cause if i had more power i would either be dead right now or have a ****load of tickets.
250 is my fave bike, i havent been on a bike yet that can even come close to being as fun to ride.
If you want a 250, get a JDM ZXR-250. 4 cylinder 250cc, 20,000 redline

i always wondered about using a 250 for a daily to work everyday. im big guy myself and figured the 250 just wouldnt move with my size.
