Default Headlight lamp has a slight film in the upper area, how to clean it off?

see below:

I've tried cleaning it off with the following products:

Soap and water
Meguiars Cleaner Wax with microfiber & terry cloth
Toothpaste and gentle to hard scrubbing
Brake Cleaner

Anybody have any suggestions?

Picture doesn't work.

If all else fails, sandpaper. They might need a good polishing anyways

hmm. remember the company that makes it or anything close to that? I go to wally-world like every 3 days and haven't seen that in the automotive area. weird.. (It's not a Super-walmart tho)

Meguiars Plasti-X might work. If that doesn't, try Plexus(sp) or rubbing compound then polishing compound, then wax...you may need a machine if the hand doesn't cut it.

Oh yeah! I have that stuff too, I'll try it tomorrow. Plus i have an electric buffer. If neither option works, I will do what ek forever suggested: sandage with super fine grit

I'd advise not using brake cleaner or other parts cleaners on plastic. It could eat it, making your problem worse.

I've used this stuff by Meguiar's, I think it's called PLASTIX? I dunno, but it is exactly what you're looking for.

Yes, the product is called PlastX.

Your local Autozone should have it.

naw but seriously try wetsanding with 1500 grit and then 2000 grit and a good polish. i did that to my gf's headlights cus her lights were completely hazy and dull and that took it right out...just make sure you keep the sandpaper really wet

I used "brasso" on y sol headlights. It worked for me..

but I would recommend that you try just a small spot first. You may have different results.
