ok, so i get up this morning, turn the car on and the check engine light comes on. I dont make nothing of it cause the cars acting fine. Then i try to rev and it wont rev pass 5000. It gets kinda a soft choke and it doesnt switch gears. I let go of the gas then accelerate then it acts ok. Then the next day I turn the car on and the lights gone and it revs normal again. What could this be? It didnt stay long enough for me to check it.

 

Year and model would probably help. The code may still be stored in the computer memory. I am guessing EGR problem. Some models have a recall on EGR, so you may want to check that out too. Good luck

 

usuially the EGR chokes the engine at idle, and it sputters, but once you rev it, it runs ok.

Best bet is to pull the code. There could be lots of things that can cause the car to hesitate. we're gonna need more info
