So you're not running a cat, and you're surprised your emissions numbers are high?

What I do is install my stock cat and burn a quick EPROM with closed loop. That's all it takes for my car to pass. It only takes 10 minutes to install the cat and switch to closed loop then I just switch it back when I get home.

stock cat, closed loop, no exhaust leaks. Slam the car to the ground, so that they can't do a roller test. Make them do an idle test.

i laughed when i read this title.....

sorry... anyway what are your NOX readings and limits if the NOX is real low you can advance your base timing, run the test with the hood up and make sure they use the big shop fan in front of your car that they are supposed to.

you are failing HC's because you took out the thing that burns off the HC's.. your cat converter and your base timing is most likely retarded as well making it a lot worse.

if your NoX is low your timing needs to be advanced.

i know a little about emissions repair and besides i was in the exact same spot with my DA and this worked perfect.

didnt work for my DC2 though. so its hit or miss

the DA passed with FLYING colors with no cat converter.

but wiggin out that your turbo and fail emissions.... lmao.

instructions: go to ghetto, pay extra, get sticker

Some states don't test for NOx... mine does not.

He will prolly just get away with leaning the car out a little (if he has too), slamming the car on the ground, and cat

it would be easier to advance the timing than too lean it out and they both have the same effect on HC's and NOX so either way. point is its burning too rich.

Well if you advance the timing too much you will cause NOx to increase. Retarded timing won't cause increase in NOx

thought i made that obvious but yeah i didnt state it that way

retarded timing will cause a decrease in NOX and increase in HC and vice versa for advancing.

long story short....... you can manipulate NOX and HC with timing. you can increase and decrease the numbers with the adjustment you make to go either way. and the NOX and HC are altered opposite of each other.
