Default Brake Issue Please Help

Basically my passenger side rear brake has been acting really weird lately. Sometimes it makes a really loud creak/moan kind of noise the whole time my car is moving in reverse. Also, while driving, there is a noise that sounds like something is jingling around or something is rubbing. It's really raspy and somewhat high pitched. I've been told it's extremely loud from the outside. The noise is not constant and starts up at random every so often. It also stops doing it as soon as I tap the brakes.

If anyone has any idea whats up with my brake before I just take it all apart and try to figure out whats wrong, let me know. With expo being only a couple days away, I don't want to make things worse after the almost 2000 mile round trip. If it's something serious I kind of want to fix it before I leave. Thanks in advance.

sure it's not the wheel bearing? sounds like either your caliper is sticking or the wheel bearing is going out...

That was one of my initial guesses, I just kind of linked it directly to a brake problem because it stops when I tap my brakes.

So I was just driving it and realized that it seems to start making this rattling noise when I hit little bumps and it was especially loud when I turned a couple times... If this helps anyone at all.

...and maybe a rust ridge buildup on the rotor.

It's the pad indicator, same thing was going on with me for awhile when I was still on the original factory pads when they were worn pretty good. Pretty sure that might be the problem bud.

That is my first guess too. What kind of pads do you have on the rear? Are you driving at expo?

I'm not really sure what kind of pads they are. They are whatever the previous owner had on them. And no, I'm not driving at expo, just to expo to watch.

These were the exact symptoms of a stuck caliper on my wagon. I thought for the life of me it was the wheel bearing. Then I touched the wheel after my 26-mile drive home and almost burned my hand

I could get it to go away for a few miles if I whaled on the brakes, but you should attend to it soon. Once you get the car jacked up and the wheel off, it will be very clear what's wrong. You either won't have any pads left, or you'll have uneven wear and a destroyed rotor.

I had this same problem and just changed my Brake pads...now I don't hear the loud squeak when I'm driving or reversing.
