1996 EX-R (Canadian EX) F22B1, AT, 4 door.

So, when troubleshooting EGR problems, I thought I heard a vacuum leak around the EGR valve. Turns out this hissing noise is coming from the little 1" IAR check valve, and it makes a hissing sound constantly. I picked up another valve from a wrecking yard, but this valve still makes the same noise.

Dealer wants 25 bucks!! for this little piece of "precision engineered plastic".

What I'm wondering- since it is a check valve, maybe this is normal behaviour. I bought the car used, so I'm not familiar with all it's little noises and what should be considered normal.

Anybody have any idea, if perhaps this valve is leaking? I'm just tired of spending money on parts when I don't need to.
