i did both:

-D16Z6 with i/e and cam gear got a 15.8 @ 87 with a 2.39 60/foot in my Piggy Si hatch
-Hydro ZC swap, i/e, same car, 15.9 @ 86...with my friend driving that is around 70 lbs lighter than me (drives as good as i do...if that means anything lol)...

The ZC pulled allot harder on the freeway though. But, i'd still get the D16Z6...more aftermarket support and it just felt stronger overall.

It's really a matter of cost. A full Z6 swap should be no more than $800 complete. If you're on a tight budget, it's the way to go.
