Default 2.0 stroked b16 pump gas dyno chart

I was tuning last night at Whip Factory and started off good on the first pull (after personally street tuning) still running really rich to be safe it put down around 447whp at 16psi. with a 10.4 a/f on the top end. Giving us a good feeling on the potential of this setup. Unfortunately it ended before we could do the race gas tune. Oil pump failure as we were getting ready for race gas and did 497 at 7500 rpm (9700) rev limiter) We would have definatly seen well in to the 600's tonight if it didn't break the oil pump! I knew I should have bought an ATI or Fluidampner. Well it was looking really good and making great power with a much better power curve than it has in the past. to be continued...........

Thanks SuprDave from Whip Factory
and Alex @ Neukin for making an affordable quality-built manifold/ dp

18psi 93 octane

for those asking for EK fitment pic.(sorry bad/ old pic)

what kind of pulley were you running with the failure? good numbers, the jagged dyno graph shows that the engine is definitely not happy with the richness and/or low timing, so you definitely have some good potential there

It was the stock crank pulley.

My ignition box was sent back for testing. I was running on an MSD dizzy and coil without the twin-fire ignition. I think the timing is pretty conservative in the top end also.

With that kind of power you are running perhaps it would be a wise choice to get a better fpr.

Nice bay and numbers.

Did you cut it off in time to save the engine?

It is a pic from last year. It has a Aeromotive fpr and MSD dizzy on it now.

Yes shut down right away and believe to have saved it but I am going to check everything when I pull the pan off.

was going to put 1000's in but did not get here in time. We would have only gone as far as duty cycle would have permitted. we raised the fuel pressure up a little from the begining. If we maxxed the 880s out then we would have finished tuning once the bigger injectors were put in.
