windows roll up so slow..
in my 2000 civic ex,
is there anyway i can speed up the rolling up of my windows?
the windows roll up so slowly, and moderate speed down. is there a way to speed them up?
Either they have too much friction in the channels, or you need a new regulator.
Silicone spray works wonders like stated before.

Mine really hogs down when there is water on the window. But it does an ok speed when dry. Not as fast as my Drivers side.</TD></TR></TABLE>
lol just hold the switch harder!

im glad i brought up a touchy subject. does anyone have pics of the process? also, what type of silicone spray or lubricant are we talking about and were can it be found?
Honda power windows are pretty notorious for this. I replaced the seal around the window in my Civic and I couldn't believe how much faster the window would roll up and down. Definitely try the lube first. You'll probably be amazed at how much better it works.

It's not just power windows. Manual windows have the same exact problems.
I've never heard of it being the seals though. It's always been said to be a problem with lube, the tracks and the regulator. Sometimes the motors on the power windows eventually give out after having to try so hard for so long too.

Over time the rubber seals around the window wear and lose shape which causes the windows to rub more. I wouldn't have thought until I put a new one in. Once you've taken it apart it becomes a little more clear as to why. I'm sure it would be the same thing for the manual windows. I've just never owned a Honda with manual windows before.

I've taken apart both my power window/door and my boyfriend's manual window/door. The power window on my car had no problem with the seals (and Honda ended up replacing the regulator and the car was fine since then). The car with the manual windows has an issue with the seal, but only because the window popped off track and he wasn't willing to put it back on, so it's been sitting with the seal half in and half out.

Check the parts that usually cause problems:
- Not enough lube on the tracks / bent tracks.
- Bent regulator.
- Dying motor because of resistance caused by the above.
I imagined you've tried lubing the tracks already.
If you can tell something's wrong, replace it. If you can't, bring it somewhere to get it fixed.

i got the same problem.. all it is just weak window regulators. go to the dealer parts store or ebay sells aftermarket window regulators that are a bit faster then stock. but get name brand the cheap stuff will short out on you and lock up, im shur. good luck
