Blinking Check Engine Light

i have a 2000 v6 ex coupe when i start the car the check engine light blinks about 8 to 10 times then it goes off, this happens every time i start the car. it started 2 days ago.
does anyone have an idea what it could be..

Usually the light will blink when you have a catalyst damaging misfire. Does the engine run rough when you start it?

Does the light say maint required?

No it just blink CHECK ENGINE than it goes out, the car does not feel rough but ill check when i go out for a drive later on...

well i have the malfunction light on. it used to be on and then it turned off for awhile. and its back on. the only mod i have to my car is a short ram and a straight pipe. anybody know whats going on.
