Cause of master cylinder leak?
Ok guys, how many of you have assembled your brakes only to find a leak under the master cylinder? Now, I inspected all the stuff before I put it in the car, but I forgot to put silicone grease on that rubber seal between the booster and the master cylinder. Obviously this needs to be corrected, but I just wanted to know if anyone else has done this and then put the grease on it and then the problem stopped.
where is the master leaking from. the rubber seal on the master in the back is for sealing the booster so it does not leak vacuum. if the master leaks out the backside it is no good and ruins your booster.
When bleeding the air out of the lines, I notice that the air never goes away, and that fluid is coming out (slowly) from right underneath the master cylinder.
So your saying that greasing that seal has nothing to do with fluid leakage? Meaning that the MC is fried and I need a new one?

where is the fluid leaking from. the master may be good and could be a bad flare on the brake line, or the resovoir may not be tight. can you get pics and post them up. you gotta clean it with brakleen while on the car with the lines on tight, and pay attention for exactly where its leaking.
