ok to cut?
is it ok to cut eibach springs? i have a pro set but the ride height is horrible. i'd like to go another 2 or so because this wheel gap is ugly. and car feels like a truck still.
i know its bad if u cut oem springs because it will bottom out and bounce. will it do the same with aftermarket cut springs?

You're removing mass to the spring which the designers engineered to match the weight of the car, changing its spring properties.
Buy a set of used Sportlines and sell the Pro's. What shocks are you riding on?

Dead coils already have their spring rate at infinite (since they're already touching) and will not affect the spring rate of the active coils at all. I cut dead coils off the rear springs of my old car with no ill effects whatsoever.
If you have high-quality dampers, like Koni Sports, I would say you could cut off 1 or 2 coils (which increases the spring rate if they are active coils) with no bad effects at all. However I think most normal-style lowering springs (which are similar to OEM springs in shape) have smaller-diameter coils at the top or the bottom or both, and they often have the end of the coil flattened to help the spring sit correctly on the perch. If you cut off any of these coils, the spring won't sit correctly on the perch and could shift around while driving.

The only issue if you only cut dead coils is that you might put the rear shocks out of their usable range and cause them to blow out quicker. Koni Sports are pretty good no matter what drop you throw at it, so it wouldn't be a big deal up front.
But like I said before, if the spring's dead coils are on the same end as the end with the flattened coil (usually on the top) then I wouldn't cut any. Depending on the shape of the bottom of the spring where it sits on the lower spring perch, you may or may not be able to cut any. Just look at it and use good judgment.

not with good quality shocks. Only with stock shocks would a cut spring blow them out.
