But you have to
1. Import the car through US customs which involves it getting basically stripped down and then left in 100+ pieces.
2. Pay 2.5% sales tax on the purchased price on the recipt.
3. Pay thousands of dollars and spend months of time looking at a car rot in your driveway until it gets properly registered and gets US vin tags.
The best/only way to do is to look into your state DMV laws reguarding how old a car has to be to be registered as a "Classic car" and that's about the only way to do it.
Technically it's illegal for this gentleman to sell you a car that has not been prior registered in the country.
Not trying to lose a sale for you o/p but I felt that any interested/serious buyer's should know this prior to getting there hopes up.
I'd sell 5-8 JDM cars a month if I could find a way to legally import them.
Nick.

How does that make sense? That would mean you wouldn't be able to register any car in canada from the us...
