Please help


I had a GSR but it just got stolen and the thief wrecked it. I want another one but since Im about to go to college Im trying to cut costs. I was wanting to get a CRX because I can get one cheap and it gets good mpg. I found 2 in my area and since I know nothing I was wondering if you guys could help.

Runs great, new timing belt and water pump, new brakes, $2500
I called on this one and the guy says the clutch is good, tires are new, new front and rear speakers, and it has 180,000mi
Sounds like an older guy

are these good or bad

 

check into the SI the miles are high but it has the needed new stuff

 

Definately the Si. I'd bet money the '88 is a DX.. which is DPFI and considerably slower. Not that speed is your big issue starting college, but you'd at least be able to get up to freeway cruising speed without having to floor the petal.

The SI sounds good I bet you cold talk him down a little too.

 

offer him 2300 for the SI and have fun rexing. get an SI cause there the bomb. Youll have fun with this car and it goes quick on intake and exhaust

 

I don't know...180k...that's a lot, yeah it may be an older guy...but find out if he's the second owner...and if it has rust...especially holes...2500 is kinda high...also look under the hood, make sure everything lines up right...in case it was in a wreck...I bought mine wrecked and didn't know till later that it had been wrecked once already so some parts don't line up quite right...but then again I got my Si for 200 bux...164k...and I live 2.5 hours from home and go there more often than some...good luck

Well I went and looked at it. It looks pretty clean on the inside other then needing a good vacuuming, the exterior has some oxidation and of course the sun roof paint is meesed up the car in general is looks good to me. The only thing is that it needs a new AC pump and the clutch feels like it will need to be replaced in the next 1000mi. As far as I.C.E. goes it has new speakers all around and sony CD player. THe guy has owned it for atound 6 months he bought it from the first owner who used it to commute to the atlanta airport and back about a 60mi one way drive. Motor runs good and has a new exhaust

 

Well whatever you do, do not get the one with the bent rack and pinion, good luck.

On the clutch I thought I had the same problems with mine(I got it 3 weeks ago)but it turned out that I just needed to readjust the clutch cable, look into it.

start at 2000 goto 2300 or 2500 if you really want it. I doubt he'll take 2000 though.

good choice with the si, but talk his *** down. i picked up my 90 crx with 116mi for $2000. and its in exellent shape plus you said the guy sounded old so it will be easy to talk him down.
