Default Help on installing AEM intake system

Hi guys. I just bought a AEM Cold air intake system. (not V2) for my 96 Accord EX 4cyl. I think this version was the first one ever came out. It cannot be seperated into 2 pieces.

Anyways I just took out the old intake tube and I had some question about the flap, that tiny BOX which is only on VTEC engine. (resonator I think) and it had an electrical plug on it. What should I do with the box and the plug?

And also what do I have to take off in order to remove the lower half of the intake box? I'm really noob at these things.

I didn't have all the parts in the box. I got this off eBay. The guy sent me whatever he had. It came with the intake tube, filter, all the 4 clamps, breather hose and the connecting rubber piece.

AND BTW.... the filter looks kinda dirty. But still reuseable. What should I do to clean it? Do I have to oil it? (*Reminder, i have the old type, not dryflow) and can I use the oil-er from K&N?

If anyone has any suggestion, I would take them.

Never mind. I found out how to recharge the old filter. In addition to my last post, (Read it and answer please) is there any other cleaning solution that I can submerge the filter in?

KK cool.

Hey btw, I have an EX model which has the intake resonator on it. And with it an electrical plug. On the PDF install manual, its called a Intake Resonator Solenoid. Do I need this???

You can unplug it and remove all the old intake piping and resonators. Just tuck the plug away in the engine bay. It won't cause a CEL or effect the way the engine runs, it just connects to a solenoid that opens up one of the resonators to keep the intake quiet.

Just to update. I installed the CAI perfectly. The VTEC started kicking in at 4000 RPM. Very nice. Response from the engine has increase. I love it. I missed out for years. Anyways thanks for your guys' help. =D
