D16Z6 New head installed alittle chatter.
check valve lash...if the lash is set properly and it still does it, check the A/F ratio. I have been dealing with this recently as well. set it as close to .007" intake as possible and .009" exhaust. Don't get it ridiculously tight, it's just a feeler guage. My z6 head seems to be less "clattery" with more fuel. A respectable engine builder nearby says it's pinging making the sound (due to too lean)...but doesn't sound quite like a ping to me, but then again I'm a noob. Runnin a tad on the rich side it seems happy.
yeah sounds more like a ticking sounds like the values hitting the value cover dosent it, do the bolts holding down the lifter arms need 2 be torqued down 2 a certain pound, the guy i got the head from took it off for some ******* reason i don't know why
uhmmm, the tappets' range of "proper operation" for intake is .007" - .009" intake side, and .009" - .011" exhaust. The nut holding the screw needs to be torqued to 20NM or 14.7512429 lb-ft. Remember to hold the screw positioning while torquing the outer nut...otherwise you will just be resetting lash over and over and get pissed and throw things and curse and kick your car.
Kick car = no bueno =
hope this helps in some way.

Alright it shoudent be harder than changing my head, LOL every manual i read didn't tell me about the metal plate holding the intake manifold to the block and i was getting pissed LOL

If that noise isn't your valves, it could also be your fuel injectors switching open and closed which is a normal noise. Sounds like a fast steady clicking/ticking. Some injectors are louder than others.
dont think itsthe injectors i just put some Rc's in there LOL hope not or i will take them back, ill get them checked tho thanks man
