Default Goddamn belts squealing AGAIN....

So last year... My a/c compressor was shot so my dads mechanic friend went to a junkyard and got one with less mileage/use. Put that in and used that recharge crap and it was cold as ice and worked wonderfully.

Then I forgot to use it a few times a week to keep the fluids in check and keep things in working order and now it's summer and in high 80's with bad humidity and my a/c is having problems...again....

Everytime I turn the a/c on, the belt squeals ******* BAD. And it only seems to be happening when I'm driving. At idle it doesn't seem to squeal. And it's not as cold as it used to be.

So should I just use a recharge kit and get a new belt?

Maybe try retensioning the belt? New belt? They will stretch and degrade over time.

Make sure the belt has the correct tension.

Alright, cool thanks. I'll see if anyone can do that for me lol. I don't have any tools or money. Trying to keep it all on a low budget. And it's an old belt I believe.

I'll re-bump if problem still persists after re-tensioning.

replace the belt...its a cheap part...if it still sqeaks then its wither another belt or there is a bad part the belt attatches to...i.e. compressor or alternator

Well considering the motor is about to hit 179,000 with majority of stock parts still on the motor, I wouldn't be surprised lol.

I'll see though. Thanks everyone for the input .
