need to know what the alternator solenoid valve is and does. Need to know where it is located in car. Having break light issues. the lights work but when I press the brakes the brake lights don't work. I checked the fuses, and the bulbs. Any suggestions or ideas on what may be the problem?

Is there a brake relay?

 

there is a switch under the dash that touches the brake pedal arm.
