Default R6 better for shorter riders?

I went to take a look at bikes the other day and noticed the R6 seem to be a bit shorter or easier for me to reach the ground. I still can't flat foot and is seriously tippy toe'n, but its not as bad as the CBR RR or especially the GSX-R.

I looked online and it stated all bikes are at 32.3 seat height. Am I missing something here? I see they have a little different on the width, but nothing major.

I am not sure if the R6 I sat on was lowered in anyway. It didn't seem like it. Are the R6 better for a shorter rider?

if the r6 felt the best to you, get that. if its still too tall to tolerate, just shave the seat

are you talking about the new bike?what year?because i believe the 06-07 gsxr are the shortest of all the 07's..i know this because i got a 07gsxr and my brother has a 06 r6 and i sat on the 07cbr at the dealer(kind of forgot how tall it was but remembered it was shorter then the r6)...
Gixxer is defintly the shortest one follow by i believe the cbr and last the r6. all with stock seat of course..r6 is a pretty tall bike my feet tiptoe walkin that bike.. i am 5'5 and my gixxer is perfect

I am 5'5 with a 29 inch INSEAM. ******* suck. So, you're saying the 2007 GSX-R are the shortest and best for short riders? With boots on I am at a 30.5 inch inseam.

pick the bike you like best because height shouldn't really be a problem. You'll get used to it. oh yea mine was a 750btw..good luck on ur decision and keep us update on what you'll get.

'06/07 GSXR's have the lowest seat height of the 600's. I pretty much can flat foot one and I'm 5'7". I have a '04 R6 and I'm on the ***** of my feet (same thing when I sat on the '07)

Forget the seat height. Seat width makes a bigger difference. I can flat foot an R1 easily but can't on my R6 because the seat on the R1 is narrower.

how the hell is that possible? I am only 5'5 and I am tipy toe'n. If I can at least reach the ground with no shoes or boots on than you sure should be able to flat foot on boots.

BTW: What's the most effect foot to put down when you're cheek sneaking.

NO SIR! That used to be the case until the past couple of years.

2007 Seat Heights (inches)
Yamaha R6: 33.5
Daytona 675: 32.5
Kawasaki ZX6R: 32.3
Honda CBR 600RR: 32.3
Suzuki GSXR600: 31.9

It's almost a 2 inch difference between the Yamaha and the Suzuki. That's pretty substantial. I'm 5'5 and rode a GSXR600 in a parking lot and it fits me GREAT.

Yea that's strange, I'm 6'0 and can flat foot both feet w/ knees bent.

As for seat height, I rode all the bikes before I made my decision on the gixxer, and the r6 seemed to have the highest seat by a long shot. I don't know where that 32.3 figure comes from but where you actually sit is a lot higher on the R6 than other bikes.

Right foot. Keep your left foot free to shift.

Some people have a long torso, hence the reason a 6'0 person may not be able to flat foot a motorcyle. I'm 6'1 and wear a 30-31 inseam because I have a shorter legs and a longer torso.

Eh, I keep the left foot down so I can cover the rear brake when im stopped on hills. I guess it's all preference.

I dont know how its possible but it just isn't, my heels are about 1/4 inch away from being flat but its more comfortable to use one foot.

All that really needs to be said about this is, if you are worried about how tall or short a bike might be, a race-replica sports bike is not the best choice, because clearly you are new to riding motorcycles.

Man.

So because the guy wants to feel more comfortable when the bike is STOPPED, you're telling him to stay away from a supersport?

if he is more comfortable on the bike then his confidence level will be higher. if your foot touches the ground while on the r6 then your good to go because you'll eventually get used to it, just gonna have a hard time reversing.

my buddy has an 06 r6 and it feels well on me, then again it is dumped a few inches.

im 5"5' and i ride a 92 cbr and i tippy-toe it but im pretty used to it now (thank god for good balance)

other buddy just bought an 07 gixxer, definently a different feel from the r6.
