on an old set of 205/55/15 nitto 450s, I would launch at 4k and feather the clutch just enough to get a little bit of wheel spin

This question is too general. You have to give many many more details. There are SOOOOO many variable. You cant just ask, "What RPM do I launch at." Luckily, I wasnt the first one to reply to this thread or you would've gotten more animal facts.

actually, what RPM do i shift at is very easy on honda's because 90% of the time you want to shift right before fuel cut...

lauching is an art to master...it just takes practice, and a whole lot of trial and error...so its a little harder to master...its good to have a starting point tho...

my advice is to start around 3500-4000 and slip the clutch...

I would not feather the clutch b/c it cheaper to replace the tires than to replace the clutch

yes but burning up the tires wont get you down the track faster.

Slipping the clutch is kinder to the driveline than dumping it. It's cheaper to replace clutches than transmissions!
