What do all of you do about garage door openers when you ride? I saw this on ebay: motorcycle garage remote. Then this gave me the idea of using a regular remote and wiring an external switch to it.

I put the remote in my tankbag or leave it in a pocket where it's easy to press the button.

I just use my key to open up the regular door, walk over and press the garage door button from the inside.

I don't even have a garage door opener in my car, let alone on my bike.

I'm too cheap to buy one Going inside and opening it from the house ftw

Same here. I bought a replacement Black&Decker remote that works on their electronic door looks as well as other things and just zip tied it to my handlebars. I would have put it on my keys like you but my bike doesn't have keys. lol

This is what I have:

I guess technicaly it's made by kwikset but B&D owns them.

why go through all the trouble of wiring something up.

is it really that big of a deal to keep it in your jacket pocket or even your trunk?

+1

On the SV I can open it and pull in without stopping. I have to stop at the end of the driveway with the cruiser because of where the ignition is but I can still do it without looking.

It actually just floats in mid-air on the triple tree but it's plastic so it doesn't really matter anyway. I did have a problem with it marking up the white oil tank of the Aero so I just put a piece of vecro on the back so it'll tuck up under and not blow around.

Same here but I just bought one and decided not to install it since I'm moving in a month. Too lazy to install it and take it back out later
