Car problem, cant figure. realy maybe? ignitor?

Car problem, cant figure. relay maybe? ignitor?
hello, a friend of mine is having some issues with his typR.
heres the story... hes at the strip, half way down the track his car quits. lots of wheel hop.
will not start.
few hours later it will start and run for about 10 min, then quit, no start. same thing over, waits a few hours like 5, and the bitch will start run and die.
No E light.
any ideas?

wheel hop halfway down the track? or was it engine studdering like a biotch causing it to feel like wheel hop.. when the car does start, does it smoke or anything? does it idle like stock or is it rough?
i dont think it'd be the ignitor, if it would it probaly wouldnt even start up, and you would get a CEL for it..
sounds like it could be a bad main.. id pull it, take it apart and check the backside of the relay to see if any of the solder points are broken.. if they are, solder back together and try it then

i dont really know, he said wheel hop. i was not there. i have not even seen the car yet, i plan on going over to his place today to help him out.

start the biotch up,check for irratic idle, smoke from crankcase/exhaust, check for CEL's.. i knwo you said it didnt have any but, i would say it would almost have a CEL.. maybe he took out the CEL light ?
