Default Safe driving with a Jdm b16a;. need advice

Ok, so i need some advice.

what are some safe RPM's to stay under with this b16a. i know it redlines at 7,800 but i havent even taken it past 6.500

also im using a pr3 instead of a pw0. in my Ef Hatch. is the pr3 better than the pw0?

thx

Well my B16A redlines at 8800rpms. I don't know what kind you have but it''s safe to shift whenever you want. I usually shift before VTEC activates to save gas.

yes the pr3 is better than the pw0 cause there are more stuff for it I heard. As for the rpm's well I've taken mine to 8500 and I think could do more but dont wanna risk it. I usually cruise @ 70 mph on the freeway cause it just below 4500 rpms cause dont wanna roll on the freeway with vtec running all the time. Gotta save gas with these prices now and days.

yeah a b16 was born to do the spin dance all the way north of 8000. peak power stock comes at 7600rpm. shift at that point

If you short shift them with the stock tranny you'll fall out of your powerband, making it slower, it's slow already trust me.

Loud doesn't mean fast, just ride it out.

If it's too loud, you are too old.

lol I know a guy who took a stone stock B16A with some pos chip to 10k rpms (by accident) over a year ago and it still runs. I certainly wouldn't reccomend it but 7000rpms isn't gonna kill your B16 lmao... Take it to redline, don't raise the redline, and you'll be fine...

christ what is up with all these people saying that redline is at 7k or 7600. The red line for a jdm b16a is 8200 and if its a pr3 ecu your rev limit is 8300. You will not blow anything I swear. Ive taken my car to 8500 when I had a fresh rebuild on it and it took it and kept going.

Yes the max power is at 7600 but the whole point to shifting at 8200 is because when you shift your in higher rpm in the next gear. If you shift before red line you will just be out of the power range and maybe not even in vtec in the next gear.

The only way to truly enjoy a b16a is by reving the **** out of it.

****, you have to or else you wont go anywhere.

rev it to 8200, you'll get used to it and love it. my limiter is set at 8700. these little motors love to rev. SO REV IT!
