Hi, Hoping someone can help me out here.
I noticed a pin hole leak in one of my smaller coolant lines in my 90si, and I tried to call shops to find some 5/16 inner diameter rubber coolant lines but nobody had them. They had 5/16 ID rubber fuel line hoses, and they said it might work.

I had to get my car on the road so I just got them, and replaced the the faulty one I had. It seems to be working fine, but I am just wondering if it is safe to use rubber fuel lines hoses in place for rubber coolant line hoses? I measured the temperature of the rubber coolant lines when the car was all warmed up, and it gets up to about 100 degrees celcius. Just wondering if the fuel line hoses can take that kind of heat? Any had an idea? Please chime in. Thanks.

 

It should be fine, I went to pep boys and got some fuel line hose poped it on my busted hose and its still going with no problems. If it lasted me this long I dont think there is any big difference between them.

 

That is load off my chest. Thanks, I guess I just needed some assurance, cause, I had a picture in my mind of the hose bursting on me, especially with the weather heating up as it is.

go to local parts store and look at their stock of coolant hoses that what i did for swaps.

 

That is basically what I did, but all the places I inquired with didn't have that size coolant hoses, and it would be special order for a whole roll order only.
