NSX/LEGEND Caliper swap on a 4th gen Si.
Will a Legend brake booster work on a 4th gen prelude? I have the full legend swap for my car except when I put everything on I don't have enough pressure to press both pistons out in the calipers. Will adding just the brake booster solve it or will I need the master cylinder also? Need help asap. First time I get in the car the brakes hit the floor. If I pumped them up then they'll be fine. But If I let go for too long and hit the brake again they go right to the floor again until I pump them up. And trust me I don't have air in the lines I bled the entire brakes system for 3 hours straight.
sorry i don't have a solution for you but i just wanted to let let you know that many here on ht including myself have done this caliper swap and needed no other modifications. All you should maybe need is a spacer for the pads.

the only thing i changed on my setup was added the calipers. if your pistons arn't moving then you need to bleed the brakes. I flipped my calipers over and hung them. then put a 2 by 4 peice of wood in the caliper so the pistons could press aginst that. You need the bleed screw to be at the top, because air rise. but when you mount them the bleed screww should be ont he bottom. because you want to mnake sure the left caliper is installed on the left side. if done as if it were on the legend then the bleed screws will face down on a prelude

I'm thinking you have a bad master cylinder...if you can pump the pedal and the brakes work fine, then they hit the floor next time you hit the pedal, most likely the MC is leaking internally.
if you bring the vehicle to a stop and hold the pedal, does it sink to the floor?

No It doesn't. Everything is perfect when I put my stock calipers back on. And I have an Si whichever size comes on it stock. I have no clue how to figure out what size MC i have. So should I mount them on the opposite sides? Because I had them mounted to where the bleed screw was facing down. You know Left on left and right on right. And I bleed the legend calipers for 3 hours. I it still felt the same. But when I put the Si's back on it was all fine.

If the bleeder is pointing down, you can bleed all day, its just not gonna get all the air out. You need the bleeders pointing upward, above horizontal. to find the MC size, look on the driver's side of the MC while mounted on the car, there will be a number or a fraction. Thats the bore size in inches.
like my post said bleed with the screws facing upward, and then when installed if you have the calipers on the correct sides thebleed screws should be facing down. rea dmy post above,
Dang, well hearing this just helped me out alot. I do have a 1 Inch MC. And when I bled the calipers the bleed screws were facing down the entire time. So they still work if i just swithed the sides. You know right on left and left on right or will they not work as well? And which piston is supposed to be on top the large one or the small one? Or does it matter?
if you install them correctly on the prelude the bleed screws will be facing down.
in order to bleed them you need to take them off the rotor and put a peice of wood inthe caliper to act like a "rotor" so it has something to squeeze aginst, then hang the caliper so the bleed screw faces up (Still not on the brake rotor) then bleed the brakes and once all air bubble come out, install the caliper onto the rotor and bolt them down,. this is where the bleed screws face down,

Preciate it. I found out what the problem was. I mounted the caliper with the bleed screw facing down. So I couldn't bleed it correctly if I wanted to. But I corrected the situation and it feels great. Preciate all the help. I switched the calipers and they work fine now.
Just to clarify, if you are using the Legend GS calipers, I reccomend bolting them on the car with the bleeders pointing down and dismounting the caliper body to bleed. This is because the two pistons are unequal sized. You want the smaller piston to be closer to the leading edge of the brake pad (has to do with pressure being dispersed.) This affects lateral pad wear if done wrong, or can affect it.
So how long can I ride with the left on the right and the right on the left, with the large piston leading instead of trailing? And what kind of pad wear are we talking about?

am i that unclear, this is what i am saying the whole time, !! thanks for getting it said strait

Now my next question is do I really need to have my abs shield on, xause its making a really weird noise everytime I hit a bump. I already pushed it back from the rotor but now its rubbing on something else so I was just gonna remove it.
