exhaust cut out / bypass the cat?
i want to install a cut out on my exhaust, but instead route it back to the exhaust (with anothe y pipe) and muffler (to bypass the cat) so i was wondering if anybody has seen this configuration. will the butterfly valve (when opening) clear the piping if i sandwich it between flanges.
I am doing this for sound only, its not about money or gaining performance. I just want an alternative to swaping test pipe and the cat. I also think the open exhaust would sound awesome after 3000 rpm or so just to get past the tin can twang.
tech only please

i made one from on old chevy cut out after the so called "door" fell off.... what i did was make a flange and bolted up an hf throttle body to it and used a choke cable from autozone to open it...... but i didnt re route it back to the exaust..... i left it open header the problem with re routing it is that you really dont have to much room to put new piping in cause of your shift linkage...... it will most likely get in the way some how

any cutout should work (HF TB HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA thats awesome) they sell cable actuated cutouts or electronically actuated cutouts. Either one will work with piping attatched as long as your carefull not to bend it too sharply right at the flange. I was interested in doing something like this long ago, but never did it.
