i did a rear disc conversion on my 96 civic cx, i hear people saying the cx valve is same as 99si, how can this be true? yes they look the same but that dosent mean internally they are the same, can anybody clarify? also how do i identify what prop valve i just bought.. junk yard claims its off a 99si. THANKS.
Keep in mind that the prop valve is about balance. The valve itself does not care if you have drums, discs, etc... The dx and si used the same prop valve. This is because the dx had the small disc up front, with drums in the rear. While the si had big discs up front, and discs in rear. Very different setups, but roughly the same balance, so the same prop valve was used...
I would expect the cx to use the same prop valve as the dx/si.
The *EX* on the other had had its own prop valve because it had a different setup. it had the big si discs up front, and the lower model drums in the rear.
When in doubt, check part numbers.... http://www.slhondaparts.com

Yeah...there are no physical markings on the prop valve itself that determine weather or not it's Si, Ex, Dx, etc.
