Default My First intake, First time welding alumnium

I made my first intake, not the best in the world but not too bad. The guy bailed on the velocity stacks. I didn't really have the tools to cut the alumnium so I made due with what I had. Not all that concistant with my welds. I was paying more attention to how the alumnium welded that anything (how the alumnium puddled and all those things). Do you guys sharpen your tungstens the same for alumnium as you do for other kind of metals? Because when I'm welding other metals I have pin point accuracy. Is there a way to get that with the alumnium welding?

What are you going to do with the radiator hose?

Ultra Lights? Pansy. lol

Why did you make it square instead of using a tube? Better plenum volume, but velocity might suffer. It looks like you did a pretty good job rounding out the runner transition.

What kinda car is that? A Neon?

How are you gonna run the radiator hose?

You should have cut off those square runners, welded on some allumnium tubing instaed of those stock ones

But it looks good for a first timer

the radiator hose just dus lay on the intake. all the aluminum was a freebie that is y we did it like that i could have rounded it but really didn't wont to go through that much trouble this triangle is some thing like 4 feet to each corner

its not going to work...when the engine rocks back under acceleration it will pop the rad hose off or pinch it between the hood. I'd also be interested to see if the throttle cam will clear your starter.

Since you didn't weld that with it attached to the head...the head flange will be warped as expletive. trust me. you need to take that off and machine it.

is the battery being relocated? i don't forsee this clearing a stock battery tray or the iceman tray.

And you'll need to buy the 99 Neon throttle cable, because it wont reach the throttle body where you relocated the tb to.

Good luck!

why are your beads so thick around the runners? looks pretty good tho other than that. also, i would pressure test the manifold before you run the car.
