Blue01EX, how many miles did you have on that filter?
And I swear it's a southern california thing - when I changed my filter after 30,000 miles it was very clean. A few pieces of grass or whatever, but if it were the air filter for the enginer I wouldn't have changed it (I did change the cabin filter because I was so pissed at how much time it took to get to it, then to find it was clean). Anyway, my '99 LX is now just shy of 90,000 - I'll replace it again, see how it held up over 60,000 miles. I can gaurantee it doesn't look like yours though.
Oh, and kudos on having a 5-speed, I love mine.

Correct. 6th gen Accord up have air filters.
Which really sucks because dirt can get trapped in the evap core pretty easily and the blades on the fan can be filled up with dust.
I drilled a small hole in my evaporator core plastic housing, and sprayed in a coil cleaning foaming cleaner I got from the Home Depot. I checked what came out, and it was total crap and gunk from over the years. You might want to look into that.
Removing the fan is pretty easy too, 3 screws to remove and clean.
All I can say, I am not smelling any of the urine smell, which is actually mold.
