CL type-s 6spd swap into accord
i have a 2002 V6 accord coupe EX and was considering a swap. im pretty sure that people have done a 6spd MT CL type-s swap into an accord but i was wondering how much it costs and where would be a good place to look for a CL type-s 6spd MT engine? would it be cheper to just do a conversion? if it is then would it be more of a pain to do that then an entire swap?

If my memory serves me correct Dave took an automatic 3.2L and did a conversion to a manual, and matted the CL type s 6speed to it. Another option you have is to mate the CL type s tranny to your car, the new accrod 6 speeds and the TL 6speeds are all the same, they will bolt up as well. Hope this helps.

The CL-S 6speed is different since it has the lsd and you would have to change your ecu and wiring harness and pretty much anything like that. You can expect to pay anywhere from 7-10k on this swap. I did it because i had not seen it done when I started and very few people had tried it and even fewer succeeded. There is a list of parts in the FAQ if you would take a minute and search and you will be able to see what you need. Now that list is pretty complete but let me tell you that the wiring is not plug and play at all. It is quite extensive.
Yes, ECU and everything has to be changed, this is what brought dave lots of trouble, the swap itself is pretty easy, as far as getting the engine and trans in, but the most difficult part is wiring it to the ECU's. I was looking into this swap VERY intensly, and was planning on it up untill i found out that daves cost between 5-7g;s W/O the engine and trans....So instead ill just buy a wrx or something.
There is alot of expense in converting the AUTO 3.2l to be able to use it with the manual trans. you have to replace alot of sensors and other parts. its alot of work for not much power.
