Default **Stolen Bikes Alert**

Hey guys, any help, leads or ideas here will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Two brand-new 2007 Gixxer 600s were stolen last week in the Nashville, Tennessee, area. Old Hickory Boulevard to be specific. Both had ~200 miles last week ... now have less than 1,500 if any more than that, I'd think. One is red and white with a carbon fiber accessory kit added on; the other is blue and white with the blue powdercoated wheels and blue seat cowl on it.

If anyone has any updates on these (suspicious parts or sales online or elsewhere), please post here. VIN numbers can be posted to confirm or dismiss anything, too. I know a generous reward can be had for any definite discoveries. This is for my friends.

Thanks again,

Taylor Rau

Well, I just moved back to Nashville this past year after many years ... seems the bike theft here has gotten out of control. It's making me paranoid about my own bikes. Be careful out there, fellas, wherever you are ... and theft insurance FTW.

The big downer here is that the guys whose bikes were stolen were first-time riders, had all gear, etc., but they were just getting into it and all excited ... then that happened. Man, I couldn't imagine how bummed I'd be.

I can't remember the name of the apartment complex, but it was gated and off of Old Hickory Blvd. (near Antioch) in Nashville, TN.

Also, confirmed ... the guys had not put theft insurance on the bikes yet ... only had them about six days total.

You can flame that if you want, but imagine THAT siutation. You're new to riding, just getting started, have full gear, etc., but didn't get full insurance yet. Suddenly you went from making the decision to get into to riding to paying on a bike that doesn't exist to you anymore.

I'd be pissed on many levels.

Eyewitness News Everywhere uncovers new details about the double shooting at a Bartlett motorcycle shop.

Kawasaki of Memphis sales associates Glenn “Buddy” Page, 32 and Cynthia Lester were shot inside their workplace located on the corner of Summer Avenue and Elmore Road Tuesday.

Bartlett police say the gunman was 17 year old customer Dexter Brown. They say Brown died minutes after the shooting when he crashed his car.

Police interviewed shooting victim Cynthia Lester at the Regional Medical Center Wednesday, May 30, 2007. Lester is there recovering from a gunshot wound to the arm. Police say Lester gave them insight into what happened before and after the shooting.

Police say Lester told them Dexter Brown was no stranger to her. That say when Brown walked into Kawasaki of Memphis yesterday, Lester thought he had finally decided to buy a bike. She told police she had been talking to Brown on the phone for several weeks about purchasing a V 1200 cruiser motorcycle. Police say Brown was inside Kawasaki of Memphis for about an hour and a half Tuesday. They say he looked at the motorcycle he was interested in during that time. Police say shooting victims Glenn Page and Cynthia Lester were sitting down behind either a table or their desks when Brown opened fire just after 2 pm.

Lester told police she heard a pop. She realized she had been shot in the arm, and then ran to the back of the store for help. Police say Glenn Page was shot three times around the same time as Lester. Page died inside the store yesterday.

Police say Dexter Brown took off running after the shooting, hopped in his white four door car, then sped off. He died minutes later when he flipped his car on Highway 70 in Arlington. Police believe Brown spotted several Shelby County Sheriff’s cars outside their Highway 70 precinct during a shift change, and then sped up, mistakenly thinking the cars were after him.

Police say Cynthia Lester's interview did not shed light on what led Dexter Brown to shoot her and Glenn Page. Police say she told them everything was calm in the moments before the shooting. She also says she had not had any previous disagreements or arguments with Brown.

Cynthia Lester was in serious, but stable condition at the Regional Medical Center Wednesday night. Police say she was rushed into surgery yesterday after she was shot. She was hit in the arm.

Lester has declined Eyewitness News’s request to interview her on camera. Glenn Page’s family also declined our request to speak to them. Tuesday, Page’s uncle, Joey Hadley, told us Page was a fun loving, good guy who has many friends.

\Police are still looking for a motive, but he had a my space site, and there is word that he was part of a theft and chopshoppee ring
