d16y8 head gasket on d16a6
has anyone ever put a d16y8 head gasket on a d16a6 block and head?
i think it will work, that is if the blocks are the same, which i think they are, just different heads. the reason is that the y8 head gasket is half as thick as the a6 head gasket, and the compression will go up. i've heard of one other person doing this on http://www.crxcommunity.com but i don't want to destroy any valves or anything.
thanks

^^yep...
all i would add is that a few of the coolant passage holes dont match exactly with the a6 HG....you can leave it, or dremel them out as i did....
this is just from memory...i last did this back in 2002
