tires for 17x7.5 on 5th gen
Before I get flammed - this is my first post - I did a search and didn't find a whole lot. I have a 94 accord ex with an eibach prokit (~1.3" drop). I am going to be buying some 17x7.5 rota subzeros (gunmetal) and I am trying to figure out what tires to get. I will most likely be getting Potenza RE950s cause my dad works for Bridgestone and can get me a deep discount. My size choices are 215/45 or 235/45. Will the 235's rub?
My 3rd option is get 16" subzeros and go with 225/50. I know these will fit and will be lighter but the 17's look sweet!
Which ones would you guys suggest I get?

45 series is too big diameter wise on a 17 " wheel, try a 40 series
and a 50 series on a 16" wheel with a width greater than 205 will be too tall
i currently run 225/45/16's on mine
personally, 17 are too big and will slow you down a great deal
find some light 16's or 15's in a 7-8" width and slap the widest stickiest tire on there
mass is just 1/3 of the inertial equation I = m(r)^2

i am using a 215/45/17 and it is great...i like the additional amount of sidewall...i have no rubbing at all and it seems just fine...but we'll see if this works out once my car gets lowered!
The 950's only come in a 45 series for 17" and 50 series for 16". Are there other bridgestone or Firestone tires that would come in a lower profile that will still last a while (the 950's are 40k mile tires) and give me good traction?
Yeah, I have heard good things about them but I can get the Bridgestones at about half price so I would like to stick with them if they would work. I don't know why they don't make more sizes???

Before you buy, get Koseis in 16 if you can. If you want the subzeros I support them, they look awesome. But if you want Bridgestone, get Potenza SO3's. They stick like glue and give a decent amount of feedback. I have them on an old 924 Turbo that I occasionally take out to the track. If your dad can get deals on Bridgestone's, could he help some other people out?
I get them basically at cost + 5% and $10 per tire for mounting with lifetime balancing, rotation and roadhazzard.
I could possibly get a few people a 35% discount off of best price you can find but it has to be though a Mastercare car center.
