Default ReD LiNe aT 4,000 RPM.....???

for some reason now since my check engine light is on.....sometimes my car just randomly redlines at 4,000 rpm in every gear...no matter how much i gas to try to go above 4,000, rpm it will not hit my regular redline if the check engine light is on.....any help guys on what can be the problem.....this car is stressing me out like crazy....

Get an oilchange. Your engine is limp mode.

your right about 1 thing, it IS in limp mode but a simple oil change wont get rid of a check engine light.

i dunt think an oil change has anything to do with that...i change my oil every 3,000 miles...any other suggestions?

have u checked your CEL? like they said, its in limp mode.

Check your tps man. Sounds like a sensor isnt doing its job.Thats all i can think about.

scan the code. Its going to be a somewhat major code. Likely a position sensor (either the cam, crank or throttle), ignition issue, or something like that.... the ECU cant figure out whats going on and is trying to save the motor.

just pull the negative cable on the battery for about 15 minutes to reset the ECU. that should take care of the problem. if it still persists after you try resetting the ECU, than get it scanned.
