lately ive been seeing ALOT of SI's out on the streets and it reminded me of how rare they were and how HARD it was to get my hands on mine, i pretty much got stuck with the color i have. so i was wondering for the people who just previously purchased an 07 SI how hard was it to get your hands on the car WITH THE COLOR OF YOUR CHOISE!? just wondering....... its cool to see more on the road but kinda miss the good ol' dayz

 

yea i remember those dayz lol couple of months when i got my 4door si i used to see a lot of the r18 but i was the only si now i see 2 or 3 si around the city and a couple more of the 2doors

 

damnit i forgot to mention my car is an 06 SI but then i guess the name pretty much says it all lol.

 

yup...... i was the first person to buy a 4dr from our local honda dealership, wanted white but had to get black they were so limited. i was still stoked though cause there were no SI's around town. now there EVERYWHERE.

 

The average Joe probably can't even distinguish the difference between the base model Civic and the Si. So your car is more common than you think.

 

i dont know about you, but i can spot an SI a mile away.

you spot them cuz you drive a civic. I get double takes and people staring at the car if they drive a honda and thats about it. it is stock. But most poeple dont even car cuz they dont no what SI is and it looks like most civics. I too can spot them a mile away, bucause i drive one.

To the OP i had to wait 2 days to get the color i wanted. They told me 2 weeks, but they were gonna get it off a truck. another dealer had one close by. I got it a month and a half ago.

 

I got insanely ******* lucky with my color (Tafetta White SI Sedan)

My #1 absolute choice was white. There was a coupe coming in but it was already claimed. The ONLY colors on the lot were a ralleye red with 250+ miles, and then black and habanero, two colors I did not want at all.

Then.. the white one came in. Within the first HOUR of it being in, it was claimed. expletive! THen a blue one came in (my second choice) so I jumped on it. Naturally, it was already sold.

So then I get a call up from the dealer, the white one is available. Great, I'll come in and look at it tomorrow. Tomorrow comes, and it's already claimed. Three days later, I get a call back - guys credit was **** and it's once again available. I went right down there and bought it. ONLY SI on the lot with less than 150+ miles (it had 13). So basically I got my most wanted color and it was brand new, never even driven by the two previous guys who claimed it.

If the second guy hadn't of claimed it, I would be driving around a black 4 door right now, which I know I would learn to hate quickly because I'm not one to wash cars much. And suprisingly, just as the dealer told me, white hides the dirt incredibly well.

 

I was on my way to get my car serviced and told my wife that if they had a ASM Si on the lot I was going to buy it. Well they had one and I traded my 06 Ex in for it. Its funny though because it was the only Si they had. The only thing I would have lied to get was Navi.

I (according to the dealership) bought the last "brand new" NWBP Si(which was about three weeks ago) on the west coast.

 

i wanted fb but i had to wait 4 MONTHS FOR IT and once i test drove the car i just had to take it in any color so i got stuck wit ASM it grew on my but i wanted to more sporty color not a subtle color like silver....

 

I just got mine 2 days ago and I got VERY lucky. There were like 5 total in my area (50+miles of Honda dealers). I guess there are not that many that come to CT the dealership manager told me, more go to CA and such. But they had one black one and I grabbed it QUICK. Mine is a sedan. At least the 4-door, they are not as common as people think. I know there are a lot around, but compared to other Civics, there are barely any. I am the first to get one in my area...at least as far as I know from the local street scene

 

Yeah I wanted NHBP W/ Navi when I got mine, but they said there wasnt any close (7 of em wwere in Nor cal.) I didnt want to wait so I just nabbed the NHBP W/O Navi. They said even black was a lil more rare than say Silver. But I've seen like 4 Si's black just in my town : / Kinda bummed me out.

Yeah its a really awesome color. But man it is a Motherfcuker to keep clean.

And unless your going to get your NHBP wet sanded every 6 months you can see every little swirl.

But yeah all you can do is keep it clean and waxed.

 

1st week of May they had 4 Si's on the lot, all sedans. I got to get my blue one ...of course come to find out the guy who wanted it had his financing fall through about 2 hours before I got there haha.

But they all sold that week, I've only seen 2 Si's on the road in total, ever (well 8th gen anyway).

A guy in a TSX did check out my car though. I cried cuz I knew he didn't have a clue as to what I was actually driving and all I could think was that I wanted to steal his headlights.
